The World Bar Billiard Championship is held annually in November and is hosted by the Jersey Bar Billiard League. It was first held in 1981, then known as the British Isles Open Championship, and has been played every year since except for 2020 when COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the tournament.
In 2001 a plate competition was added for first-round losing players to compete in.
In 2006 the Peter Noel Memorial Doubles Championship was introduced, with a plate competition added in 2022.
A Junior World Championship was held between 1997 and 2016, sadly a lack of entrants forced us stop.
Since 2009 the tournament has been held at the Merton Hotel in the Belvedere Room. We thank the Seymour group for all that they have done for us over the years and for being the main sponsor of the tournaments.
